Usually we just do our own taxes, but we had slightly less than straight forward information so we took the easy way out and went with Fredrick James. He and his staff are honest, friendly, and reliable. I love the small family atmosphere in the office. So happy we hired them too because we ended up finding more than we expected. Definitely worth it to know everything is taken care of in an honest and professional manner.
I am currently an employee at Fredrick James, however, my review is as a client. Fred and Crystal did my tax returns for the past two years and I ended up receiving a larger refund than I have since I got divorced and moved to Florida! I am very impressed and can't wait to be able to help ours clients the same way!!
In conclusion, I would be absolutely shocked if his clients were not 100% satisfied with his services. If they were not, I'm absolutely positive he would do everything to make it right, even at his own expense.
I've known and worked with Fred for at least 13 years. When I think of him or describe him to others, I find myself using these words every time, hard-working, honest, thorough, knowledgeable and above all professional. I'm always amazed when he tells me his plans for the weekend or the evening at hand. Almost every time and involves studying and increasing his knowledge base through continuing education. I unfortunately I am not that focused or driven... Needless to say I find it quite impressive.

Scam Alert! Avoid these guys. The owner's name is Fred Daus, and he's is a slick talker for sure. I had a tax problem, so I hired him to do my back taxes, they did 2 years for about $3000. Then they told me it was going to be $7500 more for the other years. A lot of money, but I agreed, and they asked me to pay them in advance. Which I did (Big Mistake). Later I found out that they are not tax attorneys, just accountants. A few weeks later they started sending me invoices for $238 an hour, one for $1800+ another for $4900. I am a single guy, work from home with no employees, with a very simple return. They sent me a blank excel spreadsheet to fill in my bank records, and to put my deductible items into a certain column, which I did. They charged me $238 just for that blank spreadsheet, and $238 an hour to talk on the phone with me and the IRS. Fred handed me over to Joe Dolan to handle my case. I met with him for a few hours & talked over the phone a few times. He loved to tell long, detailed stories about his life. (I didn't know I was being billed $238/hour to listen to his entertaining stories) Before I knew it, my $7500 was used up, while they were still working on my 2016 tax return! And I never got a completed tax return. I called them for an update, and their secretary told me they needed another $4500 to continue, and it was going to be $18,000 more + $6k to $8k in additional fees. (Not the $7500 that they originally quoted) That my friends would be a total of $32,000 to $34,000 if you do the math, just to do a few years tax returns. I told them no, and because they didn't complete any returns, I asked for a refund of the $7500. They refused, explaining because they are professionals, they deserve a professional income. To add insult to injury, Fred sent me a text saying I would be getting a final bill for +$1,300 on top of my $7500. and to "Have A Nice Day:)" So, I got Nothing for my $7500. Since then I fired them and hired an honest firm, who looked at their invoices and told me that I was being taken advantage of big time. They gave me a set rate of $4,500 for everything (Not $34,000). I guess I'll need to file a complaint with the BBB, and maybe even have to sue them in court. Don't do business with them!
