The clearwater dispatch is terrible. I was in an accident on memorial heading towards the beach and just moved here from Pittsburgh so i was unsure of my location. Explained to dispatch that i was on the bridge that leads to the dolphin exhibit and she had no clue where i was?!?!...close to the dept building!! Thank God it wasnt an emergency. I never received the police report that was supposed to be emailed to me.
I lost my wallet yesterday working at a property in Clearwater. I work at multiple properties everyday in Tampa Bay and had no idea which house I had lost my wallet at in the rainstorm.
Clearwater Police called me after I got home from work today asking me if I had lost my wallet. I was stunned. The friendly Clearwater Police then asked me if I wanted to pick up my wallet tonight, anytime before 11:45 PM. Again I was stunned.
The Clearwater Police Department is the worst I have encountered in my 70 years of life. Twice I called 911 for suspected breakins in my home and not a single cop ever showed up!! Presently I have an issue getting my guns back after being confiscated from my home due to trouble my step-son caused while I was on vacation. After almost ten months and MANY phone calls, I was told that I could pick up my guns at the police storage building. The officer I talked to, said I would get everything back. Yea, right! I got my two guns back but they kept my ammo bag, all my ammo and a display case for one of my guns. The fight continues. I don't know what to now: Go to the sgt boss that is handling the case, go to the states attorney or much go to the MEDIA!! I am in contact with channel 8 (Shannon ). She will make you look BAD!! According to your reviews, this department needs a lot of help!
I just picked up my wallet and all the cash, credit cards, ID's etc. everything was in my wallet and Technician Hornbeck was drying everything out on her desk. I am a Tampa native and I cannot describe the respect I have gained for the Clearwater Police Department. Clearwater should be very proud of the Clearwater Police and its proven integrity.
Super cool staff though!
Worst bed and breakfast ever.
Absolutely no organization. My boyfriend, Nick, was pulled over yesterday by Brian Whitehead who told him that his license was suspended. This was baffling because he had received a speeding ticket in December 2016, but the fine had been paid. Whitehead took his license and issued a ticket. I left work to pick Nick up, and we went to the Clerks office to pay the ticket who told us the fine had not been satisfied in time. Our attorney had worked to get us an extension, and we had until March 30th to pay this fine according to the letter from the Clerks office. I have receipt showing that we paid aforementioned fine on March 19th. We had to pay $60 for reinstatement and pay $32 dollars for a new license to be printed because after my three (3) attempts at asking the Clearwater PD to put me in touch with Brian Whitehead, I finally reached his extension voicemail. Naturally, he did not return my call. I was on the phone with my boyfriend through this entire incident and could hear the unsure tone of the female officer whose name we did not get and the brusque tone of Whitehead who illegally took Nick's license. This wasted our day, took our time away from work, and caused us unnecessary stress. Thank you, Clearwater PD! I'm sure all officers aren't as terrible as these two, but something should be done. Officers should not be able to take a citizen's license away when they have done no wrongdoing!
