The blackened and jerk grouper was excellent, could have been a bit thicker.Crab Mac and cheese could have had some more
The food at this place is fantastic, at a very affordable price. I had the Island Meatloaf with cranberry stuffing and garlic mashed potatoes as sides. Everything was amazing. My wife and in-laws all enjoyed their meals thoroughly as well. They also have a full bar and pretty good beer selection, including craft beers from Coppertail, Big Storm, and others. I'll be back often to visit this place for sure.
First time here. Initially very impressed then by the end of the meal I was left pretty disappointed. I arrived before my group and sat at the inside bar. Excellent staff, courteous, prompt, and friendly. Then when we sat for dinner, it was the opposite. Slow, un-attentive, and not very good servers. Left with empty drink glasses for very long periods of time (not the end of the world but adds to everything). Appetizers were really good but main course for me was not. I had the meatloaf. I know this place is more of a seafood place, but their specialty, Hogfish, and grouper, was sold out. Also out of sweet potatoes fries. So that is why I opted for meatloaf. Anyways, not saying I wouldn't go back again, but this first experience was anything but excellent.
Service was excellent. Friendly, promotional and helpful. The food was really good. I had the Grouper Reuben with a side of the greens. I am not convinced the greens were healthy but they were delicious. The sandwich came on a great rye bread with braised cabbage. The cabbage was terrific. Great place, swing by if you are in the area.
I’ve been to Rumba several times now. The service is sometimes slow, the parking lot has some major capacity issues, and some of the tables on the patio are really poorly lit, but the Caribbean food is generally pretty good and there’s usually some decent live music there.
This most recent visit was possibly the best experience I’ve had at Rumba — the mussels were good and the scallop special entree was excellent (although the vegetables are tasteless; they must be frozen or over steamed or something with zero seasoning). And our sever, Jeremy H, was really attentive and provided top-notch service. Overall it was a pretty good Friday night dining experience.
