Good luck trying to reach anyone at Best Buy for assistance on the phone. It rang about 20 times this afternoon before I gave up. I called back and tried a different department -the Geek Squad. I got a human this time, and he said he'd see who could help me. He transferred me to a number that again rang about 20 times. I called back, got the Geek Squad again, explained what happened, and he said "let me try again." I was again transferred and the phone again rang about 20 times before I hung up. I called back and tried car audio and actually got a human again. I asked for some assistance; he apologized and said he'd get someone. I was transferred and it rang about 20 times before I hung up. I called back yet again, got car audio, and asked for the manager this time. He gave me what he said was his extension and said he'd transferred me. It rang endlessly again, and I hung up. I called back (yes, again - I'm on a hunt now) and tried the extension he gave me, which directed me not to a manager, but to an automated recording for car audio. I got this feeling that I was being played with by everyone, and that no matter what their assurances, they were going to transfer me back to unmanned customer service.

When you need assistance with your phone good luck finding an employee. Otherwise their inventory is pretty good., hence the star.

I just called their geek squad rep. told him the make and model of laptop and asked how much it would cost to upgrade. His response was $50 and you have to bring in your own memory. I said you don't have it there. He promptly said "I dunno they are getting pretty limited you should just go to the manufacturer, order some and bring it in. Seriously!!!!

I normally have an average experience at Best Buy but my last visit was exceptional. I needed a cable for a pre-owned product that I had purchased, I was not positive about what kind and which would work best. I was greeted by several employees and the one who assisted me knew all about the different cables and helped me make the best selection. It was some of the friendliest service I have ever received.

I've been a Best Buy customer for a very long time, but this store lost the company my business for good. I was given zero direction with a software return other than "contact Microsoft". I'm of the mind that if you sell a product and don't allow it to be returned if defective in the store, you should at least be able to offer more than two words about how to accomplish this, whether it be a phone number to call or a URL to visit, but the managers I spoke to had zero will to help me out with this issue.

Now I know why Best Buy is financially on the rocks - their service sucks. This isn't an isolated case - it's been this bad for years. Between them imploding with lousy service and Amazon beating them on prices, I'm surprised they're still solvent. I'd be willing to pay a little more in order to get something locally, but when no one is willing to help, I'm entirely willing to spend my money at Amazon.
