They must have got a new cook when they remodeled. I usually go there once or twice a week.
Atmosphere is touristy, but that's expected for the location. The staff isn't very friendly- more like harried and just over the whole experience. What's really important though is the food: unfortunately it doesn't make Frenchy's worth the visit. Mediocre bar fare that can be found at dozens of places in the area. Yes, even the Grouper cheeks. All of these drawbacks, coupled with the parking factor makes this place just not worth the trouble.
I would call it sort of a "run of the mill" surf style, sprig breaky, beach atmosphere. If you're interested in that hole-in-the-wall place that surprises you with great food, this is the place. Grouper cheeks were off the hook. great slaw, and the Grouper sandwich is a winner. Service was good, and atmosphere was fun and friendly. Super happy we tried this place.
Seating was very intimate. Atmosphere was very "sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name...". It was pleasant. Everything was delicious especially those garlic crab fries. We all cleaned our plates.
Oh well. You still have the tourists that don't know
No more. Buffalo chicken sandwich was buffalo chicken soup on a bun. And you know what happens when a bun is saturated. 10 napkins later and finally a fork. And the new servers ????
One of the best grouper sandwiches in the area. Recommend getting it Cajun style. This location is a little small though. I'd go to the other close locations.
